« Catalpa » is a South American tree which grows 6 meters high and has elegant aromatic white flowers with intricate violet and yellow designs on the petals. Not only does the trees provide an attractive landscape but also produces a pod-like fruit, approximately 71 cm large. Some Catalpa are growing on the golf course of Atamisque property.
Catalpa is the Premium line of the Winery. The wines are elaborated with grapes from San Jose, Tupungato (Uco Valley) at 1.300 m.a.s.l., and aged for 12 months in French oak barrels (6 months for the Chardonnay).
„The Atamisque reds are distinguished by their perfume and fine-grained tannins. This blend of Cabernet Franc with 20% Merlot and 10% each of Malbec and Cabernet Sauvignon is no exception, featuring subtle oak, grassy yet ripe flavours, bright acidity and a long, tapering palate.” 93 pt.
